My dad is a heart patient in India. He has had two heart attacks in his life but is stable now for a while. He is visiting the us and I would like to get some guidance on what insurance plan I can purchase for his five week visit. Should I focus on a plan that covers acute onset of preexisting conditions or preexisting conditions or is there an option to get both?
Visitors Protect is the only plan that offers coverage for pre-existing conditions, but it still cannot be known or expected treatment. It also has a 90 day minimum purchase and $1500 deductible built into the plan for anything relating to a pre-existing condition. Additionally, it must be purchased before the insured has left their home country.

There is no option or reason to get both, as the "acute onset" would already be covered under general pre-existing condition coverage.
